Hi Fellows,
I am really excited. Sams grandpa is coming to visit from Florida (I have never met him) and he is a veteran from the Pacific Theatre and was captured by the Japanese. He was treated cruelly. Sams father (his son) , knowing my fascination with WWII asked if he would talk to me about it and PopPop (what they call Sams grandpa) agreed. A firsthand Vet account of the Pacific war by an ex-POW!!! This should be fascinating!!!!

..but is the old gentleman aware of your collector interests... which side of the conflict you are collecting... I really would hate to see pictures of that nice LW radio broken in your head!

My advice to you is to tape the conversation if possible. In years to come Sam will be pleased to hear her gandfather's voice again and you will have saved a little of the memory of a WW2 soldier for future generations. When I was a kid my grandparents used to tell me many stories about the war. Now they are gone, I so wish I could remember all these stories.
