The 709th Infantry Division will be holding the first annual WWII Days public event at Blastcamp Paintball Park in Hobart, Indiana this August 12th-14th. The park is a former US Air Force Nike missile base turned paintball park, and offers buildings, bunkers, and a fantastic opportunity for street fighting. Units will be able to set up their displays and camp in the buildings themselves. The buildings are empty of furniture, lighting, heat, and windows. They are very rustic looking, so they definitely look like something out of Stalingrad or Enemy at the Gates. Pictures can be seen on our website.
Given the time of year, we are billing the event as a southern Europe event, so HBTs and Tropis are welcome. If there is enough interest, we'd like to host an Eastern Front and Pacific battle as well. A building will be set aside for vendors. The cost will be $25 per table.
We are asking guys to pre-register at http://www.eventbrite.com/event/1524276151 and have unit COs contact Jeff at ssbigred@yahoo.com to let us know how many guys you plan on attending with, so we can allocate building space to each unit as fairly as possible. Pictures and more information can be found at www.709th.org Thanks!
