Battle of the Bulge, Bridge at Petit Spai.

    Guys,

I thought I would let all know that the bridge at Petit Spai is being demolished (this is the bridge that a JgPz IV tried to cross for the relief of Kampfgruppe Peiper stuck in La Glieze, only for it to collapse under its weight).
OK, so its not the actual bridge that was there in 44, but the bridge piers are the originals. The site is being changed as we speak to build a bungalow park for Dutch holiday makers.

Progress always wants to march on in all countries, but it does seem a shame to change battlefield areas ...

      Best,

So, if I understand it correctly. Belgian peeps are going to build a bungalow park for the Dutch??
Don't get me wrong but, what's is wrong with the peeps who came up with this stupid idea?? Like the Dutch have no place to go where they can go for there holidays

Not meant as a dig against the Dutch, I have many Dutch friends! But a dig that there are too many holiday parks here, before long the nature people come here to enjoy will be buried under a holiday park! Oh and the people who build these are the local rich ones with influence................

I mean it as a dig against my own countryman. It's always the people with the money. They don't care about history, but they only care about them selfs!!

If you look into history, you will find out that virtualy every area where humans live was a battlefield one day or an other; so new buildings will always be "destorying" history.
