I remember watching this on TV and thinking just how nauseating and repulsive the journalist was.

His agenda was perfectly clear and an objective overview on reenactors and collectors in general, could not of been further from his intentions.

Talk about blanket assessment, this man was on a selfish mission to discredit, nothing more and nothing less.

    Regards Richard.
Always looking for Luftwaffe Kampfflieger related document groups. In particular anything to Kampfgeschwader 2.

Ironically, this is the way i felt about the re-enactors.

As i said in a thread at the time which has now vanished, the journalist had a clear objective in showing things in a very poor light.

Of course he was biased, and of course he had an agenda.
      That is clear and obvious.

However, the idiots in uniform gave him all the ammunition he needed and so much more.

They hung themselves with their own rope, all he provided was the gallows.

i saw this in my sister flat and she said i hope you dont hang around collectors like that! i had to stress to her that collectors are not re-inactors and the re-inactors i know are NOT like the twats in that doc!having said that the journalist really only showed what he wanted to be shown!though this guy actully isnt a very good journalist from what iv heard!

What did the Documentary Prove !.....F##K All !! and has done no damage whatsoever to the reenactment community.

Only highlighted that at the War& Peace Show in Beltring,..is full of all types of re-enactors and the paying general Public, having a great time!

If anything, it became an advert for the Event !...Beltring will be Rammed this year, from the free publicity.

              Well done Sweeney!!

I spoke to Sweeny at Beltring and at first he seemed a nice guy. However once it was clear that he had a hidden agenda, he changed and so I kept my distance from him. Also one of my friends was part of the film crew and when they found out what he was up to, they resigned on the spot.
I remember it caused a total sh1t storm in the UK among reenactors and everybody was blaming each other.
When the programe aired, what did we see..............nothing! A sorry piece of film work that didnt even last 30 mins.
The weeks following were not good for the BBC and the national newspapers had a field day, calling the BBC all sorts of names. One headline ran "Who do you think you are kidding Mr Sweeny!"
We havent seen him on the television since!

                  We in Belgium have.
Last week we had the famous doc where he investigated the scientology "church", where he at a time went mad. Boy that scene became a classic.
