Normandy visit,, please help !!

Hello Guys,

A good friend and myself are taking a very short trip down the coast of France, driving from the Dover Chunnel in late september.
We only have four days, because of , well '' Business, familys and conflicting schedules.

Would anyone here have any advice to us novice travelers, as to what is a must see in this part of the world.
We are interested in going to the beaches, seeing Relics and Musuems, and anything that some Members may think would be great to see .

Any info muchly appreciated

Lots to see

Here is what I would recomend you:

Omaha Beach / Colleville sur Mer:
- US Cemetery and the german strongpoint WN62 (just netx to teh cemetery)
- The Big Red One assault museum in Colleville-sur-Mer

- St Laurent sur Mer: Omaha Beach June 6 Museum
- Vierville sur Mer : D-day Omaha museum

Longues sur Mer Big Gun Battery

Bayeux (this is a Must): The Normandy memorial Museum in Bayeux

St. Mere Eglise: Airborne Museum

St. Come du Mont: Dead Man's Corner Museum

Pegasus Bridge at benoville

Utah Beach:

Utah Beach Museum

Azeville Battery as well as Marcouf Battery

I also recommend the "Wreck Museum" at Port-en-Bessin (north of Bayeux) if you're interested in relic equipment.

There are some photos on this page http://www.howitzer.dk/battlefield/normandy.htm , I thought the museum had its own site but I couldn't find it.

AS you can see, 4 months would be better than 4 days...

Grab a guide, see if you can figure out what's close, and what interests you. 4 days isn't bad.

And try some of the REAL restaurants, in the back alleys. If you don't know French, just point to stuff on the menu, and see what comes. And be careful of the Calvados.

Normandy is one of the nicest places I've been, bar none!
