Today I was fortunate enough to be a part of something really fun for me, but also very sad.
In my small town of Niagara On the Lake, behind my old house where I grew up is a small graveyard that most tourists and some locals would never know existed. Other then being a popular spot for kids to smoke pot and drink beer this place sadly remains untouched.
I kissed my first girl here, smoked my first cigarette, and woke up on grass at 6am covered in ants after my first experiance with Canadian Club.
Although we spent many days here in Highschool being no-good teenagers we never destroyed anything, and never made a mess, knowing aslong as we kept it clean we would not be botherd here.
Sadly because of todays youth whom have smashed all the rocks, spray painted everything in site, broken beer emptys and bottle tokers now litter the entire grounds, Parks Canada has decided to fill the entire area in with dirt "preserveing it" for another generation who have funding to repair it.
I will not write out the History of Col. Butler and his Rangers, but will give you to images from the signs on site to give you a small idea of whom he was.
The Rest of the Images are of the mosoleum where they kept the caskets of those who passed in winter months untill it was spring and the ground could be dug.
Col.Butlers Grave himself is somewhere on the premise's unmarked since the day he passed, for there was much defaceing to his name even back then.
So enjoy the Pictures, and if you have any questions please ask.
