I am meeting with a U-Boat vet who served on multiple boats and who was one of 19 survivors when his boat went down. We are working towards a book, and he is sharp as a tack and has many, many photos, and his medals.
Can you all suggest interview questions for me, especially things you think authors often miss? I plan to trace his time from joining the U-bootwaffe at age 16 through his multiple deployments on Type-VIIC boats in the North Atlantic, surviving being lost at sea alone & rescue, more missions, surviving his boats sinking, pow camp, and life afterwards.
All suggestions greatly appreciated!
Kind regards,
Marc
