Coastal Artillerie event in Texas

Hey guys,
This was an event last weekend at the Sherman, TX coast. We had an 88mm flak gun that we had some fun with, it's a live fire and fully functioning peice, all gauges work to! We also had an observation unit along with us.

Excellent! You guys look very authentic. My compliments on your unit and your 8.8 gun. Were those live shells being loaded? What unit are you with? I am with the 1st SS in AZ.

WOW! This is really neat! I would love to be involved with something like this. If I could see an 88 being fired in person I think I would die. Please, post more pictures if you have more. This is just outstanding!

Awesome Myself am a collector of Kriegsmarine and also coastal artillerie stuff. I find this just very nice. The uniforms and especially the 88 mm gun. I am also curious if this rounds are live ones. Do you have more photos?

You guys ought to come over to Norway, more coastal artillery installations than you can shake a stick at and the worlds largest calibre coastal gun still in existence.

The "live" round was only for a photo op. We use 2 lbs. of powder with some wax at the end to keep it nicely packed, and it sure packs a wallup! More pics? No problem.
