    Zum Turken up for sale!

Hotel Zum Turken is up for sale! If I had 4million euro I’d buy it! The only unaltered standing building on the Obersalzberg, the headquarters of the SD, and intricate tunnel systems running underneath to the berghof remains next door. I have stayed there and wow, you can just feel the history in this place and as close as you will ever get to staying at the berghof! AH had stayed here in the early days to boot! This is as close as you will ever get. Cheers, Johnno.

All of the phone calls to the Fuhrer went through this building to him. The SD headquarters on the Obersalzburg!

Hope it gets in good hands. Any idea the building is classified as heritage?

                It’s a very nice place

It's been for sale a while now. It has Denkmal status but those rabid left Bavarian rabble can change their laws at will so to allow them to aquire and flatten it. I wouldn't be surprised if it goes the way of the Platterhof....refusal of all buyers ....then destruction. Dear Ingrid would be heartbroken....but not surprised.

Sharing a couple of photos from last September, illustrating how silent it was their at that time. Front doors, sign in the windows of the front doors, a sign on the exterior wall, Preiskarte posted at the corner of the building, and hopefully you can read it . . . a poster at the tunnel entrance that tells a little about the place.

I remember Ingrid asking me about the wording of that Plaque. She was very happy the day that arrived.

A few shots from my last visit.. I am very worried about the future of the Turken. I wish I had been able to spend more time there and with my last trip canceled due to travel restrictions who knows if I will have another opportunity.

I can’t tell you how fast I would buy this if I had the resources to do so...

I hope someone with an appreciation of it's history buys it. I was fortunate to stay there in 2003 with my son when Frau Scharfenberg was still alive and running the place. We had the room on the very top floor under the arch with a fantastic view overlooking the former location of the Berghof.
