Visiting a frontline in austria ...

Hi

I had some sparetime and therefore a friend and I made a small trip to a battlefield in the near which is 20 minutes drive from my hometown, to search for soldiers killed in action and maybe we had luck, but that you will see on the end of the thread.

Here are pics from the landscape to see how nice it is in peace

On the cross there is a plate with a inscription to remember the killed soldiers
and climbers

On the way to a part of the frontlines where we think its not explored
to much

Well ... here we found the first foxholes

Another nice one build with a wall of stones

Took a pic out from the foxhole to get an imagination from the soldiers view

So we made the scopes ready for action and started searching and found
russian ammunition used for nagant rifles and MGs

We where going further and i had a signal in the scope and this was the reason, a german buckle (Heer)

Here is a part of mortar nade, the fronline was under heavy fire of these
nasty weapon

Walking trough the fronlines we found some big babys just lying on the ground
Somebody any idea what it is exactly (antitank?)
We did not touch it just made a pic , we will call the KMRD next week

Maybe thats the missing part to the shell

Some more explosives which we found, what the hell is that thing on the right side, we dont know exactly ... also a work for the KMRD

This russian MP ammunition is all around ...

On the way back home we found remains (no not human) of a deer
We put it on a tree, maybe a hunter has use for it
