I had the chance to interview a B-17 bombardier earlier this year who had one amazing story after another. He flew two combat missions over Normandy on D-Day, flew one over Germany and landed in Poltava where the Luftwaffe shelled all of the bombers on the ground, was apart of Operation Cobra and on and on.
