you are rihgt, my friend sepp did a great job to honor my father this way . this is really outstanding and he can share all the docs he has. i am writing a book about my fathers live and i am happy with that, more than 360 pages up to now.

a Canadian general once said to me during a reforger exercise : "terrain is good, mission is good, we can do it." this is my feeling when i see what sepp did.

It's interesting to see the EM/NCO buckle was still being worn by the then Oblt. Guhr on receiving his Ritterkreuz d. Ek. as supposed to the commonly seen open claw style buckle on the belt for officers to wear.

Looking forward to the book, Herr Guhr. If it were possible at all, it would be very lovely to have the book published in large format (Grossformat) featuring all the original documentations (wartime & postwar) and personal items (decorations, insignia) in close-up professional shots. It'd be a thrill for historians AND collectors alike to read. Biblio Verlag did a book on GFM W. Model ''Dokumentation eines Soldatenlebens'' by Hansgeorg Model & Dermot Bradley in Grossformat. It's done this way & a great book to read!

documented most colorful life. Thanks for the accompanying photos and

Here's a file on Hans Guhr's transfer to the Kriegsakademie on 15.7.1944 that I found from NARA (T-78 R-58 f-6014857):

All decorations awarded are signed (in pencil) by Oberst Theodore Pilling with the stamp of the IR 513. (Oberst Pilling was awarded the DKiG on 20/08/1943)

Oberst Pilling was FM Model's last IIa (Heeresgruppe B) who helped, among other two officers (Obstl. Michael & Major Behr), to bury the Feldmarschall's body after he shot himself on April 21, 1945 in the south of Duisburg (Ruhrgebiet).

Did he happen to know Oberst Pilling after the war by any chance? If yes, is there any anecdote about the Feldmarschall? Many thanks!
