Good day gents,
I already posted this inquiry in the Kriegsmarine section, but I thought I'd double my chances by posting it here.
I recently acquired a W. Ludolph, Hamburg-Bremerhaven lifeboat compass binnacle with attached kerosene lamp, not sure of the vintage. I do know that Ludolph supplied compasses to the Kriegsmarine and the Luftwaffe. The 1942 "Lehrbuch Der Navigation" that I have mentions Ludolph compasses.
Unfortunately, the compass is missing some of it's dampening fluid, so I'd like to top it up with the proper type. Any and all recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
Regards
Bern
compass: 12.6cm max main body dia.
binnacle: 19cm h X 21cm base dia.
