"Silicone Membrane" display case - safe for medals?

I recently saw this on e-bay, and while it’s a very imaginative and dramatic way to display medals, what are everyone’s views on long-term effects of the “silicone membranes” touching the various metals and fabrics of medals? I’d be afraid of some sort of chemical reaction over time, and with light/heat exposure, but if anyone has experience with this type of system, I’d love to know if it works (and looks as good as pictured)!

I use these in my shop. It is not a militaria shop. I have only recently placed 1ounce copper commerative rounds in them. I did this so I can see if there is any reaction to the metal from the silicone. I suppose it will take some time for us to find out, but for now, I would not put any valuable militaria in them.

Duct tape can't fix stupid, but it can muffle the sound.

very smart, but it may take years till the (if there any) side effects will take place.
My standard reaction is : these will indeed cause a negative reaction in the long run. No one wants to spend the extra money on what is considered (for now )to be safe materials.
