    display title plates

How do people make those small metal engraved plates that accompany framed items?
I think they are called name plates?
would the easiest way to get it done is to just got to a trophy shop?

but I would be interested in making my own.

    thanks in advance.

Trophy shops are probably the easiest place to get them made. Not a great variety of fonts to choose from but depending on how many letters you are using can be quite inexpensive. Search online for engravers and you will find other outlets to do this with more font variety.

      thanks,

but I think it's possible to make my own after finding this....

this would be great because I can choose the font and everything.

the possibilities are endless with this....

In the local shopping mall near me, they have a booth that does plate engraving called "Things Remembered". I believe they're part of a nationwide chain, and they're fairly inexpensive.
I've had things done at a local trophy shop, and they didn't charge memuch, either.

Small engraving machines of this type, go for around 1500.00 and up, if you're interested in doing it yourself. If you DO, let me know and I'll send all my engraving needs to YOU...

        Cheers,
        Bob.

oh yeah, i think I might have a "things remembered" near me too.

but can you chose the font? or is there only 3 or 5 fonts to chose from?

also, what are the limitations, if any, on the plate sizes? I assume you have to choose from a set number of plates?

If I remember correctly, the one near me had a choice of about 25 different fonts, and they would engrave anything that would fit into their machines, including rounded items.
