As long as you do not get those who give them the "clown/stupid" look.

Indeed, either you can get a really good, and then your collection looks great!!! Or you can get the idiot looking that makes you laugh when you see your collection,

Forgive me if I seem to be a Mannequin snob, for I have seen so many "bad" ones that have really stupid heads on them, beards drawn on in marker or cigarettes hanging out of their mouths (or all of the above), that make me cringe every time I see those photos.

I do not own any myself but I am purchasing a nice uniform group and will be buying a couple to display some uniforms. This is where I am purchasing mine.

I will not be getting any with "heads" but will get the "neck block" where you can place your headgear and I think it looks great (one man's opinion).

I could not agree more. Nothing more annoying than having a rare and expensive tunic, then some twit visitor (usually a relative) stares at the face and states " Shor don't look German". Worse, are the neo-nazi transvestite mannequins with effeminate features (shudder ).

For standing mannequins I use a blue cloth sack over the head so focus is on the artifacts. I can live with the pointless Blue-Man group comments (never heard that one before) and for torsos I use my own design. Note the headgear is held just over the collar.

Thanks for the ideas guys. The wife does NOT want a mannequin in the house (creeps her out for some reason), so I like the headless ideas.

Beautiful set up, by the way, Tony -- I love that Gibraltar set!

                            Hey Lee,

What you do is wait for a store to go out of business and buy all you can make room for.....

                              Lee,

Look into getting torso forms from Webster Displays. They're made of styrofoam, so put a T-shirt over them before you put your tunic on it, and jam the sleeves full of scrunched up plastic bags to fill them out. Here is a shot of two of my Fliegerbluses so displayed:
