          Thanks!

Wehrmacht items or as such uniforms are really not my 'heart and soul,' but when I saw that one it just made click and I moved in for the kill...cheers

              Gentlemen -

Just got back from good ol' Germany last night and thought I'd share a new candit photo of Wisch (Sturmbannfhr wearing M43 cap and holding map) briefing officers of his II. Btl. / LSSAH sometime in July/August 1941. To Wisch's left one can make out Sepp Dietrich.

              Cheers,
              Markus

                  Good point!

I'm no cap collector, but these must have been out in 1941 already. So probably a M41 cap, though M41 commonly refers to tropical caps, right?

In the end Wisch wore this type already from the summer of 1941 onwards.

                  Cheers!

Same field cap worn on the famous 1942 painting of the LAH RKT.
                      (Wisch seen right with KC)

                        The complete painting.

Note Josef Dietrich starting to incorporate custom made golden insignia into his uniform during spring 1942.

I stumbled over this coloured photo of Theo Wisch and his Btl. adjutant, later German Cross in Gold holder, Josef 'Jupp' Diefenthal on the internet the other day. (courtesy Mrs. Julia Koterias)

Thought I'd show it here within the context of the thread.

I brought a bunch of post-war pictures of Wisch back from Germany.

Thought I'd share this one from the mid 1980ies.

That's what I think as well.

Come by our place for a beer or two tonight and we can go through the new goodies. Brought back a new large formal SS and a cute little "bling-bling" from Hanau!

                                Cheers!
