    Wisch

Jaime, dime si te gusta: Fritz Witt y Teddy Wisch con el casco (M35/42?) puesto en la batalla de Kharkov 1943. Atras de Witt, Jochen Peiper.

              Hola Eduardo,

No, those photos are not from the new group.
Regarding the sniper group, what can I say. Some things have to go. I had my time with it and enjoyed it very much. Now it will go to a different home.
I have made the decision to focus on the LAH and some general W-SS items years ago and I am happy with the results. A rather small but specialized collection.

                  Book / Website

I was thinking, the group should really be part of something bigger. A book or website...What do the members say?

I agree, you should show the group to everyone, but, always the books are expensive, and the editors set a lot of troubles in your way, so a website reachs a lot of persons, not only collectors
pd, when are you going to germany?
pd2, dont forget the shnaps bottles, and all the goodies to show to us

                      Visit to Th. Wisch's half-brother

Unfortunately, as mentioned in the thread's introduction, I did not have the chace to get to know Teddy Wisch personally since he passed away in 1995 when I was still in school and not at all interested in the hobby.

Fortunately however, I had been given the opportunity to get to know his half-brother and afterward visit him frequently.

We talked about his time in the "Totenkopf" and later "Leibstandarte" where is older brother had been "Commander" and successor of legendary Sepp Dietrich.

Of course, I took along my tape recorder with stick-on microphone, at least once to document the fine stories he had to tell me about his persoanl war experiences, but also about Teddy. How they got to personnally knw eachother only in 1944, when Teddy had been wounded already at the invasion front and Mohnke had take over commando.
Teddy and his half-brother had grown up in 2 different homes and got to know eachother only as grown up men!

After the war, living close by, they visited eachother frequently.

Many years ago I also briefly owned several of the docs mentioned by Chris. I sold them to a dealer who passed them along to a client. I wish I still had them for you Markus!

That is very kind of you Andy.
Do you still remember which documents they were?
I have a photocopy of the original auction catalogue from 1997 which catalogues all of the docs, photos, etc. Would be neat to know...

Do you think the dealer might still know about the whereabouts of those docs?

Markus, it was 7 years ago....Fall of 2000. I believe I bought them fm John Donovan and think they may have been the Anschluss and Sudeten docs once owned by Chris. I honestly have a hard time remembering. You may already have these? I sold them in about 2001, so didn't own them very long

Oh, my good friend John Donovan. Me and my wife just flew up to visit him about 2 months ago! 2001 was slightly before we got to know eachother. Later on in 2003 he helped me with advance with some other Wisch documents, telegrams and photos!

In general I have not come around more Wisch stuff lately apart from the telegrams on a dealer´s website. But on the other side that keeps things interesting. I would love to have Wisch's formal doc. It is a true beauty...

                                Hi Marcus.

A really beautyfull collection u've got there.

I do admire your search and research into this persons life.

An amasing look into the life of a soldier and a person who did his tour of duty in WW2.

                                Keep up the good work

Hope u'll find some more to show us in the future.

I've read alot about the LSSAH and the other Waffen SS Panzer div.

                                So keep it coming

                                Regards
                                Martin
