Hi Guys,

My wife is certainly earning her keep this month! Take a look at the new display cabinet that she bought for me. I noticed it at a local antique store that was getting rid of some displays, so she went back and bought it.

Some new things

Well, actually, they are not new at all, they have just been in storage for some time as I have not had a safe place to display them. The large conch shell my Grandfather picked up on the Solomon Islands in 1942 I believe. The smaller one he had hand painted by a Philippino native in 1945.

Again, here are some things that I have not had a safe place to display until now. These are prisoner letters from Dachau and Auschwitz

My cases of medals fit nicely on top of the cabinet also.

Is that a felt spike helmet? Good shape if it is. Have you ever thought about putting a front plate on it?

Yes, the is a felt spike helmet. I have been meaning to post it on the Imperial Forum to try and get some info on it. I picked this up about 10 years ago at a flea market for $5. I knew (and still know) very little about it, but I recognized it as WWI German. I would be very interested in any info you haveo n what these were used for, and where I could go about getting a front plate as I would like to restore it.

Great display case and Great Display!! Wish I had a collection like that-but then I have just started collecting.I have only 2 helmets,3 medals and an arbeitsbuch.have to start somewhere!
