    RAD Armband

I just got my hands on this one, it`s cotton and is stamped. It`s in
Badges and Insignia of the Third Reich 1933-1945 by Brian Leigh Davis.
It is probably safe to assume that this arm band was introduced on or
after the introduction date of the RAD shoulder strap, September 1942.
It is also probable that this arm band was worn by members of the staff
    of the Reichsarbeitsfuhrer. (plate32 #13 page74)
I would appreciate any imput on this one. I have never seen one except in a book. One more item for my small RAD collection.
    Thanks

    Hello,

Ive never seen one like that in person or in a book-its suppose to be a RAD leaders armband but the only one ive seen like that has embroidered insignia with white on brown-not printed-have you tried to use a blacklight on it?the shape of the eagles head is a little odd as well-different than the ones i have seen

    regards Yancy

thanks Yancy, if you`ve ever seen one your way ahead of me. I just got
this one thru a trade, and am going by the picture in Brian Davis`s book.
Infact I always thought the RAD used the NSDAP armbands. I have a
West Wall armband that has a RAD ink stamp on it and I can`t find anything
on it. Any help is greatly appreciated.
      thanks

        Hello Neil,

can you show pics of the westwall armband and closeups of the ink stamps on both of them?also can you post closeups of the eagle on the one you allready pictured?does the one in Davis book show it with the insignia printed or embroidered?many RAD units participated in construction work on the westwall,so this isnt un common-sorry for so many requests and questions!

Here`s a couple of the West Wall armband and a close up of the eagle.
The RAD armband does glow under the black light, but it looks like it`s been
washed. See what you think. It`s hard to tell about the one in the book, if it`s
embroidered or stamped but they are indentical.
          appreciate the help

            Hello Neil,

I didnt see any pictures of the westwall armband??,as for the RAD armband I honestly do have my doubts about it being original-please do get other opinions-I know this type of RAD armband has been heavily reproduced and all the reproductions ive seen have been printed versions-I dont know how much stuff you traded for it-I have never seen a armband of that type for under $100 (up to $400!!)the fact that it glows under the balcklight makes me even more uncomfortable with it! washing a repro armband a few times is a good way to have a reason for the glow-even if it is original you would have a hard time selling it if you decided to do so in the furure-thats one of the first tests i do on cloth items and if it glows for ANY reason washed or not i dont want it in my collection-like i said please do get other opinions I still would like to see some closeups of the eagle and the ink stamp on the RAD armband and if you dont mind the westwall armband pics as well-

            regards Yancy

sorry about that i did not check your first post again for pictures !!I will check my referances regarding the westwall armband, the RAD stamp is unusual,I will have to look into it some more and get back to you on that one-If you ever come across any more RAD items i would love to see/discuss them!

                    Hello Neil,

the westwall armband looks good!!I couldnt read the writting on either stamp but the RAD control stamp is correct (it looked unusual to me when i first saw it!)the other stamp i think should be a Org.Todt stamp-just out of curiosity have you blacklight tested it?this second one looks 100% correct to me I would get other opinions on the RAD armband, allthough i belive it to be a reproduction, others might disagree-
