First off, those are two excellent helmets. Your display case looks wonderful. The woodwork is well executed and is just the right size for what you are "showing off." The other items compliment the helmets very nicely and give a good perspective to each branch of service represented without looking clutered or over the top. Very well done and I hope you won't mind if I copy this display in my own collection.

The EK-II 'ribbons' are made up using bloodwood, white oak, and ebony. I just glue them up, plane to the desired thickness, and treat it the same you would a solid piece of wood. (Just be careful to center things up)
