    David S's Ribbons Pt 2

These two bars belonged to the same guy.

80% of these bars came from Stogie-Rick, my gratitude to him.

Hi Dave, congratulations to that nice bars!
I recognize some! I think 3 "lived" some time ago in my collection.

                    Best regards

                    Daniel

And more have been pawed over my kitchen table!

I hope this isn't contagious: are you finding yourself with uncontrollable urges to collect Saint Henry Orders?

The top pair (not pawed, awwwwwww) are interesting because we see here: the top one in PERFECT correct order, a former Mecklenburg army NCO who went into the Police. So why did somebody mess around with the lower one and rearrange the tab backs like that? If it was the original owner, what the bleep was he thinking? (BTW, the "purply" Mecklenburg long service ribbon is often found with stripes varying as widely as the two "completely different" ones on these two bars.)

Soooo..... risk ever so gently UNtabbing and REtabbing them to match the correct top bar, or leave as is? I hope to post a similar case in Imperial Forum this week. In this case, I would be sorely tempted, if the tabs aren't all rusty, to MAYBE go for RESTORING the second bar to match its correct mate. I don't advise YOU to do that, since the damn things will snap off their little tabbies and then you're screwed without matching spare parts for hardware.

                        Hi David,

Group 7, ribbon bar 4, ribbon 5; do You have any idea, what ribbon it is? I have a bar with the same ribbon and can´t ID it.
                        Maybe a faded Rupprecht medal?

                        Best regards

                        Daniel

To Daniel-To be honest, your guesimate is better than mine. It confounds me due to the fact I can not find it in any reference.

To Rick L - If Stogie-Rick offers it to the masses I will be there to bid on it. When he was having his 50% off clearance sale I was there waving my wallet!

They and others have found a home in Sunny Southern California, where they will be cared for until I merge with the infinite.

                            Hello David
I really like the first bar in picture 8, non-combat EK, and the miss stamped wehrmacht long service eagle. Maybe he will turn up in a photo one day and you can a name to him?

                            Regards
                            Dez

Hi David, here is my ribbon bar with that questionable ribbon (3rd position):

Also to be honest, a faded Rupprecht medal is my best guess, I´m not sure.

                              Best regards
