Fellow Forum Members - What an awesome thread! Thanks for providing me with hours of enjoyment. I've taken great pleasure in viewing your museum quality collections. Outstanding!

Here's my paltry contribution, a post-war German Soldier, in this case a circa 1985 motorized-rifleman from the DDR. I'm saving up for a proper AKM, but the AK-47 will have to suffice for now.

Thanks again for sharing pictures of your wonderful collections.

      Sincerely,
      TJ

            Gear close-up.

Valuable lessons learned that I've taken away from this forum include: using gloves to cover-up fake looking hands, using period wrist watches to cover the seam between hand and arm, and NZ Mark's painting techniques. I'll be sure and use those when I give my NVA Soldier a more realistic face. NZ Mark's painting techniques and mannequin arrangements are truly superlative.

I've got enough Wehrmacht gear to suit up a half-mannequin, this one from Webster Displays. I'm on the hunt for low quarter boots and leggings and camo pants made from a shelter half.

The grenade is a repro, and not that well done. The glue job on the cap end was terrible. The helmet is a single decal WH M-42 with a post-war Norwegian liner. I bought it back in the 70s for the princely sum of $40.00. I need to upgrade, but I'll hold onto the lid for sentimental reasons.

The 352nd Infantry Regiment was part of the 246th Infantry Division. The regiment was annihilated by the Red Army at Vitebsk in July, 1944.

Guardian 5 I have some bad news for you.
                      1) Belt buckle in your manequin is well known fake
                      2) Y straps are postwar Czech
                      3) I also wouldn't be suprised if your m43 HBT jacket would be a french fake ( but in this case I could be wrong ).

Well done Gareth. This is a very nice display. Not even talking about the condition of all his cloth and equipment he's wearing. Excellent

                                regards Erwin
