Great and lucky ribbon-bar found

Hi,

yesterday I've found this great ribbon bar at a local coin dealer.

-EKII 1914
-Kronenorden 4. Klasse w/Swords
-Sachsen-Weimar-Eisenach: Order of the White Falcon, Knight 2.
Klasse w/Swords
-Red Eagle Order 4. Klasse
-Long Service Decoration
-Centenar Medal 1897

The big medal-bar must be a DREAM!!!

I dont think, it is the Crown Order with swords, it should be the Hohenzollern! Crown Order and Red Eagle with swords are colonial awards and rarely given in WW1 mostly to old Officers z.D.
The Hohenzollern can also be found without the crown device on the ribbon bar. Normally ALL prussian orders with swords have only the swords attached on the ribbon bar. The crown normally denotes the crown belonging to the Red Eagle. To use the crown also on the Hohenzollern ribbon bar was an unofficial sign to distinguish the Hohenzollern and the other orders. Sometimes the Crown order has an attached crown in the center of the crossed swords. See the pic below.

Do I see golden swords on the white falcon?? Maybe even the rae 1st class!
I see a centenary medal and a peacetime Red Eagle, so that gives him minimal the rank of Captain before the war, probably more a Major, the White falcon and no more stuff from other countries might be a sign to a Sachsen- Weimar- related regiment.

I´m very sure Rick will have some more information.

The swords on the White Falcon seem to be silver. MAybe this man was killed or died before 1934 to get his Hindenburg cross?

Hi Major,

So, White falcon knight 2nd class. That makes him probably a captain.
Dies before 1934? That must not be. Maybe it is a bar worn in WW1 or before 1934. A scan of the reverse might give some answers. Can You post one?

Jens-- I agree with Daniel, it must be the Hohenzollern House Order in 2nd place there. A White Falcon Ritter 2 wouldn't make sense with the Red Eagle, so I think that must be a Ritter 1.

No way to trace absolutely, sionce only the Red Eagle as a pre-war Order.

But it is a very nice bar to a guy who was probably Oberstleutnant aD and a battalion or regimental commander in 1918.

The back will help us date it, as well as what the metal backing is made out of, and type of pin: blunt and thick, or thin and pointy? Rick

Sorry, no pic of the reverse but I can desribe it.
The back ist red. The pin is made of brass and the metal of the bar is iron.

I've checked the swords with a lens. There seems to be very very little gilding remaining or it is darkened silver-plating. Very hard to tell.

So, the bar must be pre-1934.

The Militärwochenblatt mentioned only 8 knights 1st and 2nd class awards without swords in 1914 and no more to 1918. I also checked IR 94 und HusR 11 in the 1913 rank list. No matches. All the captains and Majors had more decorations.
So far, so bad, the only source could be a list of the Sachsen- Weimar awards in WW1 and a check with the Hohenzollern- list.
