I am not sure if I should post these pictures here since they are showing a copy but... I can not afford to buy a real 1939 type RK hence I bought this one. I think it is a nice copy though...

I Know exactly where you got that one too. Yes it is a nice copy, my suggestion would be to mark it in some way as a copy maybe on the lower rim beading with a sharp pin or something so that it doesn't affect the cross' overall appearance, and then I am sure you will get much approval from many on here. Many on here are concearned that even though you will do no wrong with it that someone else in the future may. I plan to buy a copy to display on my uniform one day as I cannot see leaving the real deal on it. When I do I will be marking it as such so that it is in essence no longer a threat to the collecting community.

A Request

Has any of You GENTLEMEN got a REAL 'lying' '2'. I would like to compare the pics. I wonder if there are many differences between them if there are any...?

PS. Shane, thank You very much for Your comment. At least I can say I owe one real RK - it is a 57 type with swords to it - shown already some days ago.

No point in marking this nice copy as a copy. It does not have the cross-hatching to match the "2" marking and is easy to spot as a fake to anyone who has done their homework.
I look at it this way, if you are going to spend several thousand dollars on something that you have not researched and you get burnt, then you deserve it.

@Chris, I know where you are coming from, but I was thinking more of the uninformed RK collector like most of our eBay friends are. A virgin IIIR collector offered this piece in this condition for say a fraction of what a real one would cost is what I was referring to. Hope that clears up my intentions. I just like to look out for whoever I can, even if they are ignorant as to what they are buying. There is too much "buyer beware" going on in this hobby as it is.

Ribbon problem

First of all I will post the pic:


I would like to concentrate on the two original items on the right side of the picture (57 type RK and the swords to it). I bought the whole complete and one thing kept my attention for a little bit longer. This thing is the ribbon. In the box there is an original one coming with the cross. The swords were added later and they have the ribbon as well but its width is ca.0.7mm smaller as the original one. The colours are different as well. is the 'swords ribbon' original item?

Well, it is not an EXACT copy but...it is a good one I am sure... Nevertheless I am happy with it

From the photos the RK seems like a very good repro. Does anyone know where they are made and who's doing them?
