    Gebirgsjaeger crusher

I'm selling the remainder of uniform items from the collection.
My collecting focus is now centered on insignia of the Heer.

I've owned this piece for over 30 years and you can see why.
I thought it best to post it here for the review of learned collectors
    and their valued evaluations..

Very nice crusher. Interesting is the shade of green that tend to be more panzergrenadier. However, I have a late war cap with this shade that is attributed to Jager. I was a relative common occurence that the green shades were mixed up between Jager and Panzergren. J

            AAAhh...The Angolia book!
Not a bad reference; I still use it.

The topic of greens has been discussed ad infinatum for decades.
Suffice it to say, the German manufacturers themselves were apparently confused
            as well!!
The "Wiesengrun" attributed to kradschutzen and later panzergrenadier
was often used by Gebirgsjaeger as well.
I have examples of shoulder straps with Weisengrun waffenfarbe that are clearly
            GJ (98, 136 to name a few).

You'll note that the bluish hue to the cap itself is not unusual for GJ caps.

            Thanks for your input.

All correct Chris, still a helluva crusher. The "high" placement of the eagle to accommodate the edelweiss is typical of a "always" GJ visor. Have you posted the tunic you are reffering to? Would love to see that. J
