EK2 so called "Small farme " my thoughts

    Hí guys

I did not find this picture so long ago and I noticed an interesting thing.

I do not collect WW1 crosses so I asked one of my friends what kind of types it really is

His answer was that it was , " it is an AWS, second core type "

In my opinion this the type the fantasy name is "Small frame "this is a early type by Junker assembly of types piece AWS with a early 1 type frame and non magnetic early Juncker inner core.(this the core type the 1939 Wideframe Schinkel was made early in WW II by Juncker )

"Albert Werner und Söhne" EK manufacturing (roughly 1880-1930). We know also that AWS's used two different frame variant , and two of three inner cores AWS 1914 and this in the time under. ( this for me said a ww1 EK collector to me,because I not collect these variant )

Than we know Juncker bought the company AWS (and their dies) during the 1930's . And Juncker used these remain or manufactured
, were made with the same frames that AWS used for the entire span of their EK manufacturing (1880-1930). But he has produced frame types ( crunch-bead frame 3-Flaw and the common frame type ) also at the same time.

So this is a very many variante possible.

Imo this the type as called "Small frame " too a such piece.

IMO This is a by Junker made type by AWS used (die) 1 type frame variant with a 1939 Juncker nonmagnetic core.

What do you think about it ?

IMO, in the crosses "Small Frame", to recognize the cross, we need a characteristic appearance of the angle of the inner left lower frame. If it does not coincide with this appearance, then it is not a "small frame" cross ... IMO is one type of cross and frame.

Only posted this Lug variant (S&L) showing a further AWS core variant .
With a large Imperial style ribbon ring and mixed core dies in a S&L frame with Juncker lug
                        - climax of variations in one crazy cross incorporating old and new components .
Also early S&L -Juncker business dealings .

This core also has the unique vaulted (expanded variant) - vaulted core feature as found on some other Juncker cores .

Nothing wrong with that cross . Yours has the nicer/fresher core .
The same AWS frame - different working die - and core used in the small frame Juncker .

Yes Sanya you have only seen some features of that cross which has such a mixture of parts that - and not many are around - maybe an interim cross ?

From what I can see examining my cross it appears to be some thing Juncker put together and most likely obtained not parts but the frame dies and assembled themselves .
It has the large Juncker cut lug - / frame trimmed in Berlin ? Juncker working with other companies - AWS -S&L -W&L -23 - maybe more ...
... has besides it's own cores also uses cores of these 3 company's as well makes for an extensive amount of core combinations as well .
Do you have both crosses ? Interested if both openings are the same ?

The distance between the frame , (both crosses ) : 5,24 mm
