    Three Deumer Oaks

Here are three Deumer Oaks of my collection. I thought some of you might find it interesting to see three of these rarely found Oaks next to each other.
The first one is 835 marked example. It has a heavily frosted silver finish on the obverse with burnished ribs and edges.
The reverse has a level appearance unlike S&L or Souval for example. It‘s also highly polished and has a rhodium finish. It‘s what I would rate as a wartime produced set.

The second set is came attached to a vet owned postwar Souval RK. The cross does fit right into the production period of the first postwar years - pre dating the ˋ57er era. Looking at the frosted finish, the oaks should pre date the production for the 1957 RK‘s as well. The Deumer Oaks I have seen attached to 1957 RK’s do not show this type of frosting. The frosting of the oaks is identical to the first set. This set however has no polishing or rhodium plating on the reverse. It‘s also unmarked.

The third set is again marked 835 of the reverse and 800 on the loop. It has highly polished ribs and edges but the finish is lacking true frosting and the rhodium plating. IMO it might be the latest of the three Oaks - it should date to right around the start of the 1957 RK production period.

It would interesting to see more Deumer made Oaks to compare.

    Best regards,
    Alex

Very interesting and very nice sets Alex! Here is my Deumer set. The set came with a mint, unmagnetic and unmarked S&L B-type knights cross with beading flaws. The width is 20,25 mm and the height is 19,35 mm. I am unsure of the weight because I did not want to remove the set from the knights cross. The set is unmarked but I believe it to be made of silver. This because the central vein has a mirror like finish. I am however not sure about this.

Great Oaks Alex, and nice to see them side by side for comparison!!!
I have noticed a few areas on Deumer Oaks (flaws etc.) that seem to be on many sets, of the 57 period, have you seen any similar things on these 3 sets, maybe a flaw that develops over time, or something identical to all of them???

Thanks Nigel. I haven‘t noticed a flaw on them so far, but I havent‘t studied them as much as S&L and Souval Oaks.
What areas have you noticed on the 1957 period Deumer Oaks ? Do you have an example ?
