    NSDAP Silver Party Badge

Anyone have any information on the existence of a "Silver Party Badge"
Ulrich of England is offering a purportedly genuine Silver Party Badge.
I've been led to believe that they are fake -post war creation humped up to be real.
    Any thoughts on these badges?

Lots of interesting thoughts and a couple of threads about them as well as posts within other threads. I put the title of this thread into the search function and this thread I remember well came up.

No,no - go to Ulrichs site and compare the thread you have posted and see his Sliver Party Badge. Two completely seperate issues.
Search Ulrich of England and find front page " Silver Party Badge"

The description of the "Silver Party Badge" now offered by Ulric of England is quite similar to the description of this piece found on p.67 of "Orders, Decorations, Medals and Badges of the Third Reich" by David Littlejohn and Col. C.M. Dodkins (Bender Publishing, 1968). The photos provided in this book are almost identical to those of this item on Ulric's website, though those in the book are b/w.

Interesting that this book has again become popular in our hobby! Cheers,

        Br. James

They never existed; this badge appears to be the same one in Littlejohn's book. The badge is a post war fantasy, no matter how much "providence" and how many COA's are provided.

Jo Rivett covers this badge in the last chapter of his “ The Party Badge “ book.[pg.506 ] A convoluted and twisting history to this supposed AH awarded badge as it goes through several incarnations depending on the author ... Littlejohn ...Dodkins ...Ailsby ... Forman . Well worth the read , interesting to say the least. Let me quote from Jo’s chapter on this badge “ If you hang onto the reputations of people that publish book after book, featuring fakes and fantasy items without any footnotes or tangible period documentation to support their wild notions and claims — indeed not even the slightest form of debate either - then I am of the opinion that you really deserve to have one these ‘ silver become golden ‘badges in your cabinet ( or a few ! ) [ The Party Badge Pg 511]

                  Licorne indeed !

Just my opinion, but that is a crappy representation of Hitler's signature. After all I have read, anything coming from Ulrich has to be taken with a grain of salt and a lot of suspicion. Money motivates and seems to trump actual education and research in many cases when you become a book writing dealer.

                      Hi,

the "Pétain badge" story is said to be very unlikely by a well known French collector.

These have always been unconvincing - no silver hallmark, no maker's mark, un-numbered, no document...

I have seen examples with a silver .935 hallmark offered for sale here in England a couple of years back for £45. A useful conversation piece but nothing more.

Exactly. And the fact that hallmarks can be easily re-created. I would stick to textbook examples and study them.

Ulric is only asking about 20,000 Pounds for it.
                              Seems about right.
                              For Ulric.
