    Help to identify trousers

I have always thought these to be private purchase gabardine ski trousers but I was never 100% sure.......Any idea what they are??

There is a tailors label sewn to the interior if anyone can identify the wearer.

    Thanks

They also look to me like tailor made Heer field trousers etc. cut similar to GJ and civilian ski trousers. I have a couple privately made pairs that are similar even one in LW blue probably for a field division officer etc. The name looks like Olemann? Followed by the title/rank of "Ob. . . "and the date 24-11-42

          ski trousers

I had a similar pair of trousers in the 1970's-80's which I agree are private purchase. Same two-button style pocket flaps as we. The name looks like Alemann Ob--. Can't quite make out the last two letters without a different pic of the label.

              2 letters

Two letters done in a style I still can't make out. Perhaps Gerdan can chime in.

I thought it might be "A" too and writing letters in lower case like that was sort of in style. I agree it may be E.F. the style is more artistic like a 1930s cross/mix between Fraktur and Gothic etc.

Any possibility of narrowing down the officer? I think the date reads "24 M 42" but not 100% sure on the M.

I will look now in the main books, your "M" is two "1"s written in normal German style almost like inverted "V"s

Perhaps the rank is as interesting as the name; Obersturmbann Fuehrer? Obersturm Fuehrer?

That could certainly be a possibility considering the gabardine material and pockets.

So not on 1939 lists of 1944 for higher ranks above major. No obvious matches for KIA. No matches for DKiG or for General Staff officers. Given the date is may be hard to find anything out about him if he was a war time officer. The most helpful clue with be figuring out the abbreviation.

Besides WSS it could also be an H.V. rank title. Heer officers made wide use of the gabardine for tailored clothing also.
