[Discussion] Why Army's documents are more acctractive to you than Luftwaffen's ?

I don't think this topic is discussed before, and i am always curious about others collectors' opinion, because lots of collectors like collecting army documents, for example, Ian Jewison, Stormfighter, DLD13, Angel Farré, Lionel....so many.
but why army's documents are attractive to you?

1, Army units are at the enemy front, LW bases are in relatively safe places,
LW documents can be kept well to nowaday time; Army documents sometimes
Were sent home, it is large percentage of missing when en route.

2, Army document are written with unit, it is easy to check the history of the unit.

3, Army documents are more beautiful, for example, DKiG document, Ehrenblattspange document.

    What is your own opinions?

I collect Army because I served in the Army and I think all Air Force members are spoiled brats who cry when his coffee is not hot or his laundry is delayed

OK, Air Fore guys are good people, but is not the same, foot soldiers are the ones who are on the ground and, for me, are more interesting, but Luftwaffe and Kriegsmarine are also full of research potential and will provide hours of fun, but not for me, I suppose just a matter of taste.

Looking for DKiG Heer winner Soldbuch who also won the TDB and/or CCC, specially in Silver.

Not all Luftwaffe soldiers were quiet at their base .... for example the Flak gunners in Italy slept little ....

        Hi guys,

I also collect the army. The army is the main focus of the battle. For example, the Battle of Stalingrad. In addition, there are concerns that there will be a lot of interest in movies and documentaries, which could lead to biased interest in the military.
(ex: Tiger ACE, Battle of the bulge) - JUST IMO.

Of course, the Air Force has a big battle, but it is difficult for beginners to collect because it is expensive and has a low turnout compared to the Army...

If I had lots of money, I would also like to collect Fallschirmjäger items.
In particular, it would be interesting to collect the items of the people who succeeded in making Fort Eben-Emale operations.
        (Fallschirmjäger-Sturm-Abteilung "Koch" of items)

In conclusion, there may be a concentration of interest, but there are some people who collect easy pickings for saving money due to financial difficulties.

        Gruss
        S.W.

There's more to choose from with the Heer compared to the LW, KM or any other organisation for that matter. I would love to have more LW in my collection but it just isn't there.
Collecting German award documents, other paperwork and photos relating to Norway and Finland.

            ..

Relative to which documents are "more beautiful " or better designed that would be rather subjective. Personally I don't collect KM but I consider the KM destroyer badge document one of the nicest designed documents from purely a graphic perspective.

I only collect LW so I'm heavily biased but I would say it's a matter of what a collector immediately sparks to in terms of interest (units, battles, etc.). The fact that a document was at the front has little or no interest to me it is the exploits put forward to warrant the award(s).

Some here collect all branches of the WM so they have the best of both worlds.

            Cheers
            Jeremy

Incidentally I do not just collect Army documents, I have Luftwaffe, Kriegsmarine, SS, Polizei, DRK, NSDAP, Org. Todt. etc.

Over the years different units have taken more or less interest. For me it is how it looks, the historical background, research opportunity etc.

Every item is unique so it depends whether or not I would like to add it to my collection or not.

My personal preference is Early army who fought on the Eastern front, early because this was when the German army had it's best soldiers. (many of the best killed in the first couple of years) and on the Eastern front because this was arguably the biggest battle in history. The most desirable I think the ones who attacked Moscow in 1941 and Stalingrad in 42.

Luftwaffe generally not as desirable unless it's late war Fighter pilot on the west front, then it becomes more exciting for me.
I'd much rather a late war fighter pilot who got shot down after just a few missions against US bombers/fighters than a German bomber crew with high awards and many missions (just my personal preference)

Of course there are many different variations of desirable documents.
