    Hi guys

Can anyone put a date on this S&L? For sure not wartime for me, but I wondered when this one was exactly made...

      Monday, 21. March 1949, 9:45, exactly!

Well, you wanted an exact date .... But honestly, I don't think it is possible to tell. However, judging by the nice finish I would say it might be rather early post war; not 60s or 70s.

Hardware and finish is similar to the early St&L made 1957 DK's .... so late fifties, early sixties.

                Hi Giel,

Can you post a straight on shot of the reverse, particularly I would want to see the tool mark on the pin near the hinge.

Leroy, very nice looking minty cross. I would be interested to see the tool mark on yours where the pin meets the hinge if you don't mind.

                Thanks

                Tom
If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

A nice post war cross a little like the one Matthieu has for sale in the 57er section of estand. A big shame about the damage to the swaz

Thanks Gentry. Very nice, looks like the "wartime dimple" which for me is a very good sign of wartime production, in addition to all the other little details on yours that is inline with S&L's wartime production such as finish, base metals, hardware setup, etc. Great cross my friend.

Thanks, Tom. I really believe these are few and far between and I was very happy to get this one.
