Outstanding display (as we've come to expect from you).
I'm taking the liberty of adding the image of your tradition badge that you posted for comparison in the thread on the 1. U-Boat Flotilla and that you mentioned came with a document from Kvt Kapt Cohautz. Hard to find any more images of these.
Is it somewhere there in your wall display?

It looks like Michel has two of those wooden plaques in his collection as well as a couple of pins which seem different from your pin.
Is there any story behind these wooden plaques that place them in wartime? Or perhaps from reunions?

I just noticed Tiechart was the author of the poem that was on the party invitation for June 1943. Interestingly, he was lost during Black May. I wonder if it was he that designed the pins for the 1st and 11th flotilla. His loss must have impacted Cohautz greatly.Comment

Really nice items.
The 11th U-boat Flotilla (11. Unterseebootsflottille) was formed on 15 May 1942 in my hometown Bergen, Norway.
