I recently did a deal that included this Lufty Flight Trumpet banner, it lost its hangers long ago but is otherwise in good condition with bright color, all of its fringe and no holes,

You could have the white leather hanger straps replaced through a conservative museum person. Some museum conservatives are excellent in doing this type of work.
In my collection I also have a yellow fighter group banner, from Pocking. The banner is identical in production as is the one pictured in this thread.
These were typically used in the fighter groups band, where 2 buglers with matching banners played their marches. Additionally there were 2 kettle drummers with their kettledrum covers that matched the heavy bullion wire & bunting with fringe.
Pocking was outside of Munich, was a me 262 base at the end of the war. Of particular note Chuck Yeager flying in his p 51 shot down a me 262 over the Pocking field.
After the end of WWII, Pocking became a NATO airbase. Sometime in the 80's or 90's thebase finally closed. Maps today do not show Pockings airfield so sadly, the banner I own is one of a few remnants of by gone history.
If you take the time to research the group your banner represents I am certain their would be interesting tid bits of history that can be used to understand if that group had any aces or someone of noterity that flew in & out on missions.
Anyone else have a Luftwaffe banner to share or perhaps jingling johnny ior kettle drum covrrs their respective colors?Comment

I attempted to research the banner but could not find much information about Crailsheim Airfield other than the following because it was largely a training school.
Crailsheim airfield was in Baden-Württemberg 76 km NE of Stuttgart; airfield 2 km W of the town. The Luftwaffe began constructing a large air base there in 1935 and by 1 October 1937 there were 6 hangars including a big repair hangar. Officially established as a Lw. Fliegerhorstkommandantur on the 1st October 1936, it served almost exclusively as a flight training station right up to the end of the war. Hans Ulrich Rudel joined an Aviation Training Regiment at Crailsheim during the war. In April 45, Crailsheim airfield was briefly taken by U.S. forces (10th Armored Div.) before being retaken by the German resistance with assistance from the Luftwaffe before eventually falling again.
Operational Units: I./KG 76 (Oct-Dec 39); Stab, I./ZG 26 (Jan-Mar 40); Aufkl.Gr. (H) 156 (Feb-Apr 40); Panzerjägerstaffeln Bü 181 (Apr 45)
