    PAB quiz

    Gents,

As I already said, its worth getting up early on a Sunday.
This morning I also managed to complete one of my familys. Now at first look these might all appear to be the same but in fact two of these badges are exceptionally rare.
Anybody want to guess at the maker (easy) and tell me which two badges are rare and the reason why (difficult)
Phil, you are excluded of course

I´ll post the backs and the solution later this evening.

I´m not good on PAB´s but they look like "small W" Wursters to me but i don´t have a clue on the rarity and and which the rare ones are.

    Nice family pic
    Regards
    Hans N

Don´t throw away your fake WB´s! Get in touch with me.
I collect them for reference purposes for the benefit of the hobby (for the right "fake" price of course).

      Hi Hans,

well you got the maker right. Wurster. They are not all the small "W" though. The 2 on the right are marked "KWM"

Anybody else with a guess on the rare ones?

              Skip,

Is the one on the upper left a silver massive small W? That would be rare.

              Great finds!

I think Don's right on the silver buntmetal hollowback ( top row on the left ) and if it is then it's probably the first one we have ever seen on the forum! I can't pick out the second rare PAB although I'm guessing it has to do with the grass pattern..probably one of the other silver PAB's.

My experience is that silver Wurster's with small "w's" are very hard to come by period. So a massive with a small "w" (as Greg said) and a similar marked hollow buntmetal (as Don said) would be my choices as well.

Well done Don, you saw it first.
Yes, today I finally found a silver, hollow, buntmetal Wurster. The massive buntmetal I have since a couple of months.
This and my Schwerin Coastal Artillery have made for a nice new year present.

Great find SKip!! When you get a chance, can you post some good closeup pics of both silver massive and hollowback wursters?

                            Thanks.
If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

                              Hi Skipy,

Well that indeed isn't a bad start of the New Year

I already saw the massive Silver Wurster but this one together with the hollow silver one for sure must be the rarest PAB couple ever made.

It's interesting to see that the hollow BM badges features the organized grass type compared to the chaotic grass layout on the massive BM variant.

I also would love to see bigger pics of the hollow one, and again congrats on a stunning find
