    Adolf Hitler Napkin

I just bought one of the Adolf Hitler embroidered logo napkins because I stumbleb upon it.
Ive done a bit of research but still would like opinions. Is it a formal pattern larger size napkin? Original?

Im trying to get a small AH collection in time for the 70 year anniversary of the end of WW2 and 30th of April would be, what is most likely - despite some other far fetched speculations, the day Adolf Hitler died.

Two book are on the way in as well. Will post later. One of them got Adolf Hitlers book plate for his personal library.

Am in need of a flatware silver spoon or fork as well, or perhaps knife for a reasonable price. Formal pattern is what I would prefer.

    Cheers

his is what I thought the bigger size, formal(floral) napkins' AH and Eagle looked like. I think I have seen that 4 wing feather style on some tablecloths or runners? Both Brents and Wittmann have napkins with the exact style I have shown here for sale now. Is yours 25X25 in size?

Significant embroidery differences on the two last examples shown. The four-feather example is quite a bit more complex and detailed throughout than the three-feather example, even to the extent of the difference in letter styles of the "A" and the "H."

I have it hand now and its 24 x 24 when I measure it. It is high quality cloth. I guess that could be shrinkage after washing it a few times after real use.

How does the reverse of the monogram look? A sign of quality on the good pieces is that the monograms are almost indistinguishable at first glance, front and back.

A mirror image is something that is subjective. Of course there is the reverse of an embroidered eagle that is what you expect to find due to the time frame embroidery versions. I will post.

Top example is a pic of the front and bottom is a pic of the reverse. Im sorry for the "yellow" light.

              What do you think?

I have seen another example like the monogram on mine posted in the thread AH Flatware.

I think these pieces are generally accepted as okay by most collectors. I have seen a few table runners with this kind of monogram.

I have never been a big fan, as I don't think the production standards match the known period examples. But that's purely from an aesthetic viewpoint, as opposed to an authenticity one.

One reason for this could be that, over the 10-12 year period, the monograms got sharper and better with each iteration – and therefore the difference between a piece from, say, 1939 doesn't present as well as one from 1944-45.

I don't think we'll ever know for sure...
