    Panzerabzeichen Legion Condor

    Hello collectors,

I would like to introduce to you a tank badge of the Legion Condor.
And ask you for your opinions and thoughts on this piece swap.

I personally would not write to the piece all for my opinion and hear what you can do as to say.

Just for info: Hemut Weitze has something identical piece for 9500 euros on offer. The price is not online, I have this available on request.

It should be according to the description text in the first German company Weitze form. So the original pieces Thoma has awarded in Germany in arrears to the tank crews.

    data:

    Weight: 15.57 gram
    Height: 58,00 mm
    Width: 47.00 mm

    Greeting Hans Günter

    Hi Hans Günter

I like this one a lot.

Have you purchased the whole lot from Thoma?
    Kind regards,
    Giel

      Hi Giel,

no not bought by Thoma. If it is the first German model, then it was given by Thoma to the armored forces of the Legion Condor.

Have you ever seen this model somewhere else exactly?

      Greeting Hans Günter

They are of the opinion that's it for the original?
Or they ask if it's good!

          Thank you Hans Günter

I would advise not to use the google translator.

              Hi guys,

Postwar fake for me. Badge itself doesnt look too bad but the hardware is definitely postwar IMO.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

My thoughts are the same... The details of the badge also not great.

Specifically the hinge is the type used by S&L in the 50s and 60s, same one as on this CCC but in smaller form.

I have problems with the back side, and the needle hook. with the grinding marks on the back side, I have big problems.

The sharpness of the front side is not good.

It looks like a cast copy from.

                    Greeting Hans Günter

This type of construction is not that of which is considered a period example.

I have to say I rather like it also as being a 1st pattern non German produced badge. I'm sure there are a couple of similar examples shown in Niemann's guide but I don't have it to hand at the minute.

It would appear to be die cast rather than struck which would account for the detail being slightly soft.

Tom, I don't think that hinge is from the same source, all the proportions are different.

                            Hello,

have now shown a really good experts for Panzer Badge of LC these images. He told me that he is holding the piece for an original Spanish production. He got such a piece with a small discount.

In this direction, I have not looked. It could be really so.

I got pictures of him, it's the same badge. Only the needle was repaired.

The first model which was made in Portugal, is also a cast piece.
The example shown here also as it looks.

But he also says that it is not 100% safe. Since the needle system so it is not known for a German production.

                            Greeting Hans Günter

                              Hi Patrick,

The proportions are different because of the different sizes of the badges, but the general shape and concept is the same IMO.

Something also that I think is suspect is all the file marks everywhere, we see that quite a bit of reproductions where they are trying to conceal casting seams or polish out cavities, etc.

Detlev indeed shows one of these in his catalog, but has different hardware and the details are extremely poor. He calls it a "Spanish Jeweler's piece"........

Does anyone have a clear photo of a so-called Thoma badge in wear?

                              Tom
