1938 NFSK badge for your review

all the pics i have. described as slightly vaulted, 30.1 gm, 54 x 40 mm, sturdy brass pin soldered to a maker plate, G. Brehmer Ges. Gesch.

and i just realized that it's NSFK but can't correct the heading... thank you

I have one just like it. Mine and others like it have been deemed reproduction/fake by those familiar with such badges.

There are lots of badges of this type that have been deemed fake, but originals exist as well. There was a thread many years ago where some of these badges were obtained directly from a German veteran. There were some detail differences, if I recall, between the originals and the fakes. I would not be too quick to discard it if you own this badge.

Perhaps this one: http://forum.wehrmacht-awards.com/fo...ight=nsfk+1938. I started that thread almost 10 years ago (I was "Herc" back then), and those are my NSFK pins in the opening posts - which I still have - all deemed repros, to include one identical to luftwaffenkopf's (close-up below). The original NSFK pins belonged to Mike Heuer, who had an amazing collection.

Does anyone have one of these 1938 (WL) Deutschlandflug badges with the round Brehmer marked pin-plates that can post some pictures of it? The only (WL) examples that I have come across have the oblong pin-plate stamped G. Brehmer Ges. Gesch. I have examples of this badge with V-9 and W-9 and the round pin-plate.

It seems the Brehmer mark is raised on the pin plates of those thought to be authentic

I would like to see an example of one like that as all of the (WL) badges I have come across have the stamped Brehmer makers mark. It would be nice to know that there were original pieces out there.
