Stadium Banner From Stadt Gotha - Vet Find with Rings & Snaps - Anyone Seen Similar?

Thought I would show off a flag that came from the son of a US Army Vet in southeast Virginia. This big boy measures 6,40 meters (21 feet) by 1,10 meters (40 inches).

The flag has a rod sleeve at the bottom, rings down the side for running up a pole and snap clips on the top for securing during in wind. Looks similar to the small stadium banners flown at Nurnburg that were inside stadium architecture.

Has dirt and smudges and one small tear, but looks great! It's marked "Stadt Gotha".

Anyone have photos of this type flag being flown?

What a fantastic piece! IMO, even though photos of TR events often appear to be literally covered with swaz banners of every size and shape, few have survived to today. The largest banner I have is 4'8"x 8'8", double-sided, and it is certainly dwarfed by this latest edition to your collection. Congratulations!

                Hello Colorado:
Nice tall pole flag. Noticed another tall pole type
                posted in WAF t=691848, a 142x671cm (~4.6'x22').
And in t=330777 a 5.5'x24 foot swastika flag example.

(below) some large movie prop examples from the Hollywood film "Valkyrie".

(below-2) t=691848 type period use photos.

                  Thanks OFW and other Gents.

Mine appears similar to the type used in the movie, "Valkyrie" since it's meant to be run vertically up the side of a flag pole and supported from the top.

That's a great example Jeff I've got a 24ft x 5.5ft I've had a long time. These big boys do not turn up very often these days.

                      Here's my 18 foot by 4 foot double-sided banner.....

I'd give my right arm to be ambidextrous.....

Bob - Thanks for showing, yours looks similar to the second type OFW showed where it's suspended from a "hanger".

I would love a period photo of mine, run up the side of pole. I am not positive, but the rigging on it reminds me of how one runs up sails on a ship if you look at my banner's configuration.
