    my latest: SVT40

I've got a new item in my collection, a Tokarev SVT40, in working condition (with a hunter license) It was produced in 1941, without the optic mount rails. Seems it was refurnished as the buttstock is a AVT kind with a Mosin-Nagant sling hole-plates at the butt. The flash-hider is a late war kind. The mag has been limited to 3 rounds.

It is not bad... but I'll try to get one with an early flash hider, right SVT buttstock, sling attachments and with the optic mount rail. I got a right optic some months ago:

Update: I have removed the shellac/varnish off the buttstock and that plum colour off the bolt. Now my SVT looks more natural and what it was like when out of the factory.

After removing the varnish I put some linseed oil/turpentine (50% each), with a cloth, and let dry. Repeated a couple of times, and cleared with clean cloth. It helps to preserve the wood. I dipped the bolt in vinegar for some hours , washed with warm water and soap and a soft metal brush, dried and oiled.

                  Svt-40

Huge improvement on the bolt finish. That plum color needed to go.

Yes!!! and it is very easy to do. I use vinegar to clean parts of RC weapons when they are blued and should not be.

Awaiting the papers to buy mine. Now I know what to do when I get it.

                      Nice job.

It's a big mistake that SVT's and AVT's were only with white bolts.
All rifles that were produced since early\middle 1942, were with plum bolts.

Thanks for the info, mine was produced in 1941 anyhow. If I ever get a later one I will leave it "as is".
