HI, anybody ever see a KRIM with these pins? Is the shield even original? I saw it while surfing the web and the pins reminded me a little of the split rivets on German helmets,

It seems to be an early and rare zinc shield. Looking at these prongs it is easy to understand why they change their way of production! Too much work for a shield!

So you can ask yourself the following questions,
This type is known as being original made from iron sheet so if this shield is a fake why is it that there are no original iron sheet shields known with this high level of detail? Clearly an original shield should have stood model for a fake.
If a fake, why going through so much trouble of making a die (as this shield is clearly die struck) but then use the wrong metal, zinc instead of iron sheet? Why use the never seen prongs which are also much harder to attach?
If a fake, why don't find this shield more often?
Some of the argument which just don't make any sense to me as this shield being a fake. For me the most compeling argument is the high level of detail which I have never seen before on a original iron sheet shield of this type.
I also have a very good idea of who the manufacturer was of this type but I still need to do a little more research on this.

The shield is from unknown maker, and its pattern is well known.
Only the pebbling during the productions of these shield seems to be different, but it isn't. The differences can be generated from the metal used during the production, probably zinc at the beginning and steel sheet in a second time, because it was discovered that zinc shields were too fragile (we saw it many times by the cracks...), and many makers switched over to steel sheet shields.
Here a picture of an original that belongs to Pascal and below a comparison between the pebbled surface of original steel and zinc shields (thanks to Tim B for his work).Attached Files

Pascal, Antonio and Kraut.
Thank friends for the answer. But this type I do not like, myself in this collection I did not take it. My grandfather, Lieutenant, 825 mining companies Infantry Regiment 302 division was killed in the Crimea in the Kerch landing in early 1942 and this topic is very interesting to me
