          Hey Alain,
You got this from Gerard, didn't you?
A very nice cap. I know nothing about the maker mark, but maybe Ralph Heinz knows?

            Right Lee.

It's a cap in a very very good condition. Only the sweetband show some age ( become dry). This is a cap with 0 km.

              Allo Alain,

Est-ce que c'est une Feldmutze ? Elle m'a l'air vraiment bien ta casquette.

Yes a early model with a sweatband.
Merci, c'est un modéle précoce avec bandeau de transpiration.

It is an original maker, actually "makers" as the stamp was used by a regional consortium of small manufacturers.

Your maker is LAGO.....Landes-Lief Genossenschaft Kurschner und Mutzenmacher Mitteldeutschland # 28. Nice piece Alain! It is probably early 1942 and soutache was removed by the quartermaster. Lift up that seam where the soutache went under....sometimes there's some thread remaining that might indicate what color soutache was there. I found some red art'y in a friends that is almost identical to yours.

                      Hi,
Glad to see you got the cap! I hope you LOVE it. The piping was the Gebirgs color of green, also used by Jaeger/Schutzen regiments I think.

                      God Bless,

                      Gerard

Alain, there is a piece of the soutache thread visible at the top of the cockade.
