(almost) all Awards from German Cross Bearer Pio/Btl.2 Franz U. !

Hi Guys. Thereafter all the Awards from Franz U, who receivend the german Cross in Gold Sept.26th.1944. I get all Awards from the Widow in 2001. Sadly, Franz U. was already deceased as I found out his Adress, I would have loved to hear him talking from the War. Fortunately, the excellent Book from Podzun published 1956 "Die Geschichte der pommerschen 32.Inf.Div." permits to
I also get (almost) all Awards Documents, I will also make a Thread in the relevant Part of the Forum, and I will give the Link, I just need some Minutes !
Franz had the particularity to serve in the same Unit and the same Company, which was not very usual in the german Army.... He served in the 3./Pionier.Rgt.2 which was part of the 32nd Div. Nothing rare in this Grouping, German Cross in Metal missing, but worn Awards (and sometimes repaired...) from an Id'd Soldier, that's the point. I especially love the early wound badge in Black he received for his first Wound on May.15th 1940 during the french campaign, crossing the Meuse River.... This Award can be easily recognized on it's 1944 Portrait !! I also love it's Shoulder boards, for the same reason, and because the black piping is not the easiest to find...

For those who love Markings : CCC Bronze "FLL" (unfortunately lost the small metal plate on the back), Iron Cross 1st class " L/11" , Ostmedaille "19", wound badge silver "107"

I am happy to share, and hope you enjoy. Lionel.

Yes, that's what I noticed as well. You can see the shading around the Swastika. Gotta love these groups which medals can be actually ID'd in the pictures.

                          Excellent grouping.

The lost backplate on the FLL CCC is a pretty common occurrence, since the crimping used was not very good compared with other CCC makers.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little
