    the rarest heer swallowtail ???

    Always wondered if IMO the rarest of all the
    M35/36 swallowtail standards still existed.
    The Lime Green of II./Sch.Rgt.1 (Schutzen).
    The only one from a total of ~576 swallowtails.

    (below-right) photo found online from Moscow CAFM.
    Is this it? I'm CB, so is shown on right blue or green?

        I had the nebel swallowtail. I believe only 2 were ever dedicated.

          Hello Bob:
          I think you had the rarest known so far. IMO
          M35/36 fahnen & standarten numbers are ...
          [branch colors/waffenfarben] ......... [and the number of flags]:
          930 total, swallowtail total = 576
          Red = Artillery & Observation ------> 251 swallowtails
          Pink = Panzer/Panzerabwehr-------> 115 swallowtails
          Lemon Yellow = Signals -----------> 67 swallowtail standarten
          White = Infantry ------------------> 59 swallowtails, 290 fahnen
          Gold-Yellow = Cavalry -------------> 35 swallowtails
          Black = Pionier --------------------> 32 swallowtails, 39 fahnen
          Grass Green = Jager/Gebirgsjager --> 25 fahnen (~4'x4' size)
          Copper Brown = Recon ---> (none) used pink or g-yel swallowtails
          Light (Powder) Blue = Transport ---> 12 swallowtails
          Boreaux (Wine) Red = Nebelwerfer -> 4 swallowtails
          Lime Green = Schutzen (rarest) ----> 1 swallowtail (II./Sch.Rgt.1)

              Hello Matt:
              I'm still looking for the one and only "real"
              one, and don't even know if it survived WW2.

                  Seems some now get their "legs" exercised via

                          They were all for sale back then, and are likely still
                          available today. For example I understand a yellow

                              only one

                              Here's a little appetite-whetting story whose details are fuzzy. In the 1970s a well-known dealer from NY was made aware of a fellow who wanted to sell of a light green flag he had. The person owning the supposed swallowtail flag lived somewhere in Tennessee. I cannot recall whether there was a photograph or just a description involved but contact was never made and the fellow and flag were never located. But the dealer did try!
