Italian WWI Adrian helmet????

This is my today's find Yes I know it looks like a 3rd, but I think it is quite a rare helmet and also the price was good

IMO, this is a WWI Italian Adrian helmet /the lack of badge holes on the front indicates this/. But is it Adrian helmet made in France for Italy, or Adrian helmet made in Italy? French or Italian make??

Maybe the D-rings for the chinstrap are the key to the question?

Please see the picture below. On the right side you see the classic Adrian D-ring, which is attached to the same piece of metal, that holds the liner, too /yes, I know the prongs for the liner are broken /

But look to the left part of the picture. This is D-ring of the Adrian that I got today, had never seen such before! It has nothing to do with the liner attachment, it is attached to the shell by a small piece of metal, with two rivets. The liner prongs have nothing to do with it.
So, once again, to remind the question: French make or Italian make... or some other?

And if you see somewhere an Adrian comb available for sale, please drop a note, I'd like to complete that helmet.

Theo I have both types of fittings on my helmets ,so its probably just a case of different manufacturers .I would hazzard a guess and say its an Italian helmet made in France ,but thats just a guess .Rob

Both are french made ; Rob is righ, it's just a difference in the making. Here's a view of this area on my M.15 : the D rings are riveted and not soldered ; note how the rivets are placed.

PS : the very first Adrians delivered to Italy had the french insigna installed.

Chris, are you sure the rivets have anything to do with the D ring? I looked at some of my Adrians to make sure, and the rivets are there to keep the front and back visor together; no to hold the D rings.

The 3-piece Adrian shell is French made, the Italian-made versions were in 2 pieces.

I've never seen a comb "on the loose", but you may be able to salvage one from a beat-up shell.
