Panzer EM/NCO Overseas cap by Clemens Wagner

Hello all,

Can anyone please comment on this cap? The CW marking is for Braunschweig and has a 9 41 date - 57 size. The grommets are heavily oxidized on the interior side.

Any feedback and opinions would be greatly appreciated.

I m kinda of out of the loop on the most current repro schemes..the stamp is not textbook..however I might consider it from the looks of things.. Billbert

Thanks for posting this cap again William. Washers applied backwords (not a bad thing) stamp matches other CW caps from Braunschweig, not Hamburg.
Good Insignia applied differently (not incorrectly) than other confirmed CW caps. Still leaves me in doubt....but others know more on these than me.

I own a fiel grey "Clemens Wagner-Braunschweig" cap most likely made in 1940. You can see other grommets and hand sewn insignia (original sewn imo). Have also a view on the stamp and where the "1" of the year is in my stamp (below the "N" of Clemens) compared to the panzer cap.
Thats why I would say to this panzer hat.

Hello LuckyStrike,

If the washer on my grommet was not put on backwards would it not be 100% the same as yours? Anyone else have a little diamond on theirs?

maybe - but that doesnt change my opinion.
But my opinion is only backed with 2 original "Clemens Wagner" caps I have seen. The other one has also hand applied insignia and a different stamp.
