Early S&L KC oaks and swords

Will like to show this medal, I bought ad the Kassel show.

I am very happy about it, but opinions are very welcome.

The cross are unmarked, and have a magnetic core.
    The oaks/swords have a "O" mark.

    Best
    Nicolai

    Hi Nicolai,

And I even know from which dealer you bought it as it was removed from his online store .

But you bought a good piece IMO ... "C" frame ( with dipping loop eye ), magnetic 1st pattern core.
And to top off ... early 1957 style OLS showing both flaws and the "o" mark.

Very good buy, as a fellow 1957 KC collector I do like what I see here .

      Thanks

      Thanks Mathijs

Nice piece but ashame that the holders name is lost.

I actually sold most of my 57 items, but could not hold back on buying this one anyway. Its the best 57 item I have owned to date I believe.

        Hi Nicolai!!
A lovely RK you have shown us, with the less common combination of 1st pattern core and "C" frame!!
Logically, this piece should date to after the 1st pattern with "B" frame, but before the 2nd pattern, but, unfortuately for us collectors, S&L's assembly methods mean that sometimes older cores seemed to get combined with frames from a few years later, or vice versa, making accurate dating sometimes difficult, but the finish certainly points to an earlier piece i think!!
The Oaks are also nice, having the "0" mark, and at least one of the usual die flaws!!
So, all in all, a fine S&L set!!!!!!!!!!
        Thanks for showing!!!!

                  What a great set

The oaks with swords are one of the best i ever saw. Hard to find from this early period.
RK is a very good C-frame.

                  A very good catch
