    2nd Ranger Battalion Helmet..Age?

    I need help figuring out the age of this 2nd Ranger Battalion marked helmet. I think in the 70's or 80's.
    I also think this may be a movie prop or just an out right intention to deceive.
    When did they stop using the diamond ?

            One of the stamps in the second one is U.S. SPR. I believe that stands for Saving Private Ryan.

              Yep, US SPR marked items are from the film Saving Private Ryan - These are wardrobe/prop helmets from the film, and for the certain crowd - they do fetch a decent amount of money as collectible movie props.

              Don't know about that yellow ranger diamond though?

                Anybody ? Help on the 2nd ranger helmet. Age , genuinre ? Etc.

                  The ranger lid I do not think is WW2 vintage. It has swivel bails and clamp on chinstraps which are from the 60s. The liner is WW2 but with a later sweatband. I do not like the ranger diamond as it is painted over wear rather than equal wear around the lid. It might be a legit one from the 60s but I cant be of assisstance if it is. It might be a prop or something along those lines?

                    I have both a 29th div and a 2nd rangers prop helmets used in saving private Ryan; both are ACAD marked, and my prop 2nd rangers has the traditional orange triangle, not yellow so I would guess yours not being marked is not a SPR 2nd rangers.
