    Unique Custom Camo Luft Tunic...

This recently sold on German e-bay....

Sold as a Para photo (although the Luftwaffe Flak Sleeve Badge is clearly unmistakable)....Para or not, the NCO's "Wrapper like" custom camo tunic is definitely not something you see everyday...

His überfallhosen are not standard either, but the pair on the left is.

Great photo. That's a really unique tunic. This guy certainly had a sense to style. Makes me want to start looking at German Ebay more often.

      Thanks for sharing.

I want to thank you for posting my photo on WAF. Yes, I was the winner of that photo....something else I have noticed is that you have this habit a posting photos that don't belong to you and did not win from ebay or taken from other websites. I would have posted it anyway on one of my threads and still intend to do so once I receive it.

One thing I do want to comment on is that some late war paras or volunteers in Italy did not have jump badges. I personally know of one para who fought at Monte Cassino who didn't have a Jump Badge. His name is Willi Fretz...Marco knows him as well. I also want to point out that paras also had LW Flak badges and sleeve insignia so don't count it out as not being Para.

John also pointed out that he is not wearing the standard tropical trousers and what gives it away is the visible button hole vs. the hidden button.

          Bill:

If you wish to whine and cry about posting photos (and clearly you do), then do so directly to me by way of PM. That said, please make sure to also contact the other 10,000 collectors who didn't bid but who copied that photo off of e-bay for their own personal reference before I posted it here.

As for the various PM's thanking me for posting this photo here - your welcome

True Bill, and these non standard überfallhosen are also lacking slash pockets and standard pleats at the waist.

Once had a splinter jacket cut like this one in Italian camo

??? Where am I whining and crying may I ask. Just pointing out that you mostly post other collectors photos on WAF.

I have invested allot of money in my collection and I have no problems sharing my collection with WAF and the rest of the world. There is no reason to limit what I have to say to a PM...my choice.

I didn't dally on what I needed to say....if you read the rest of what I wrote I moved on to discuss what was in the photo along with some personal history and some insight as I have a very large collection of Fallschirmjaeger, Luftwaffe Field Division and Hermann Goering photo collection that proves there was a combination of Badges and insignia worn. I'm not here to get into any pissing contests.

Here is a photo I just took of a few of my field made camo jackets in my collection and one reason why I have a special interest in collecting photos with field made camo uniforms.

I love those field made jackets Bill. I look forward to an individual thread on them if the day ever comes. Thanks for sharing.

                  Wonderful jackets!!

IMO, Bill Petz (who I do not know personally) has contributed more to this Forum through postings of his incredible photo collection than 99% of other members here.

Hear, hear! I couldn't agree more!

I recently acquired the BW medal bar of FJ DK Träger Ernst Ulrich and along with it some scans of him in Italy. I'll share the scans of his camo duds.

Nice collection, but ditch the plastic hangers.
