I consider the top tab to be a fake.

Only the tab Dave posted is original.

The tab shown by mr. Davies is indeed a fine specimen , made to to high ( German ) standards .
The first ones issued ( i.e. VERTICAL , for the Legion ) may not have been .
Would anyone care to comment on the following tab - of which the embroidery IMHO does seem to comply with Dutch items from the period .. ?
Unfortunately I've never seen another one exactly the same before ..

                  Officer's Tab

I'd like a more clear image of the reverse. Right now, I am having problems with the thread used and its application to the wolf's angle.

I will indeed ask the seller for a better reverse shot , but for now thank you for the first comment .. !
P.S. IMHO the bullion thread used COULD indicate Dutch embroidery ( as I'd expect on the first make of these ) , but I would be more at ease seeing a similar one with provenance .
I have seen the type used on the tab that started this thread before , on both horizontal and vertical versions , and was not convinced at all . I hope the one I showed has a better chance ..

I think it has some chance. The embroidery looks well IMO. Some clearer photo's will absolutely help.

                        Hello Winkelman,
I also think that the bullion embroidery looks dutch made, for comparison here is my example, the backing is different from the one you posted.

                        Hope it helps.

Another one for review. Perhaps this one is ok?

Thanks in advance for your help.
