The tab shown by mr. Davies is indeed a fine specimen , made to to high ( German ) standards .
The first ones issued ( i.e. VERTICAL , for the Legion ) may not have been .
Would anyone care to comment on the following tab - of which the embroidery IMHO does seem to comply with Dutch items from the period .. ?
Unfortunately I've never seen another one exactly the same before ..
I will indeed ask the seller for a better reverse shot , but for now thank you for the first comment .. !
P.S. IMHO the bullion thread used COULD indicate Dutch embroidery ( as I'd expect on the first make of these ) , but I would be more at ease seeing a similar one with provenance .
I have seen the type used on the tab that started this thread before , on both horizontal and vertical versions , and was not convinced at all . I hope the one I showed has a better chance ..

I also think that the bullion embroidery looks dutch made, for comparison here is my example, the backing is different from the one you posted.
